Upgrading Your Cheat Meal
Last week I had one of those days where it seemed like so many unlucky things kept happening. It was one of those days that compelled me to buy the box of macaroni and cheese while I was at Trader Joe's...I mean, at least it was organic, right??
Well, when I got home I decided I could upgrade the mac and cheese and at least add a few good things to my otherwise cheat meal.
Here's what I did.
- Prepare the noodles per the box's directions
- When adding the milk and powdered "cheese" I also added a hefty dose of grassfed butter, MCT oil, and a scoop of collagen protein and mixed it all together.
The Bulletproof Grassfed Protein Powder has zero texture/taste so it mixed in and I couldn't taste any sort of difference. To be honest, it was creamier and tasted better. Getting in the extra healthy fat and protein from the protein, MCT oil and grassfed butter definitely gave me a few extra nutrients I need for my pregnancy.
So the next time you succumb to a cheat meal, because let's face it, it happens....be creative and think of how you can upgrade it in anyway! And of course, don't forget to take some activated charcoal afterwards to help remove the toxins from your system more quickly and efficiently!
